Single Day Tickets Go On Sale Today for Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (February 1, 2018) – Single day tickets to the 2018 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg are now on sale at gpstpete.com.  Four additional racing series were also announced for the March 9-11th event held on the 1.8-mile, temporary waterfront circuit in downtown St. Petersburg, Fla.
 
Headlined by the Verizon IndyCar Series, the green flag will drop on 11 total races during theFirestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg weekend.  The 110-lap IndyCar feature is set for Sunday, March 11, with an approximate start time of 12:30 p.m. EDTReminiscent of and inspired by the popular open-wheel cars from the early 1990s, thiswill be the debut event of the new, sleeker Indy car aerodynamic body kits into competition for the 2018 season.
 
“Preparations for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg are at full speed, and the process of building the track, Yacht Club, grandstands and suites will begin in less than two weeks,” said Kim Green,co-owner, chairman and CEO of Green Savoree Racing Promotions, organizers of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.  “Anticipation is building for both the drivers and race fans, and for every racing series running on our weekend schedule, this event is their season opener to begin another season.”
 
In addition to the Verizon IndyCar Series, joining the open-wheel line-up are the sports’ future stars racing in the Mazda Road to Indy development ladder series, including Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.  All three of these series will hold doubleheader races.  The Pirelli World Challenge Championship features two separate race classes of homologated showroom-style production vehicles:  GT, GTA and GT Cup classes in one race and GTS in another, encompassing four of the weekend’s races. 
 
Another race during the weekend is the 6th Annual Firestone Grand Prix 5K Run presented by Modern Business Associates benefiting the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg.  This run or walk event is held on the race track on Friday, March 9, and will start at 6:15 p.m.  Registration is open at gpstpete5k.com
 
The SpeedZone, located near Turns 5 and 6 by the Firestone Bridge, will be full of merchandise vendors to pick up the newest racing gear and interactive displays for adults and children.  Two new features are WaterVentures known as “Florida’s Learning Lab” and the Kennedy Space Center (NASA).  Andersen RacePark located in nearby North Palmetto, Fla., will have karts on site for spectators to ride for an additional fee.  Gasoline Alley is an additional fan area near pitlane featuring more vendors and exhibitors.

Chevrolet Continues Its Support of Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

 

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 23, 2018) – The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with Chevrolet for the upcoming event on March 9-11, 2018. For the fifth consecutive year, Chevrolet will serve as the official truck and have a strong on site presence both on and off the racetrack.

For Chevrolet in its seventh Verizon IndyCar Series season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg serves as the 2018 opener as well as the highly anticipated debut of the new Dallara IR-12 chassis featuring a more aggressive, sleeker universal aerodynamic body kit into competition. The event also offers Chevrolet the opportunity to showcase its 2018 vehicle lineup.

Chevrolet has won the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in five out of its six starts since re-entering the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2012. The Chevy 2.2-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine has powered Helio Castroneves (2012), James Hinchcliffe (2013), Will Power (2014) to victories as well as back-to-back checkered flags for Juan Pablo Montoya (2015 and 2016).

Public Sales Will Begin November 15
ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (October 11, 2017) – Race fans who were on hand at this March’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg can be the first to do so again for the 2018 event. The exclusive renewal period for these customers is open now through November 14. General public sales will begin on Wednesday, November 15 at 10:00 a.m. EST.

Pricing remains unchanged for the 2018 event for all ticket options. Renewal customers who purchase a three-day reserved seating get automatic enrollment in the Champions Club when placing their order now through November 14 at 9 p.m. EST.

“The 2017 event was our best yet, and it won’t be long before the Verizon IndyCar Season is back in action at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg,” said Kim Green, co-owner, chairman and chief executive officer of Green Savoree Racing Promotions, organizers of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. “We are pleased to announce that ticket pricing for 2018 will be the same as this year, and the return of the Champions Club offers superb access and exclusive benefits for our most loyal fans.”
