Thirteen Races Announced for March 10-12th Weekend
 
 
ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 31, 2017) – Single day tickets to the 2017 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will go on sale to the public tomorrow (February 1) at 10:00 a.m. EST at gpstpete.com. Organizers today also announced five additional racing series each showcasing doubleheader races for fans during the weekend. 
 
Headlined by the Verizon Indy Car Series 110-lap feature, the green flag will drop on 13 total races during the 13th edition of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.  Additionally, the picturesque, 1.8-mile temporary street circuit is the U.S. season opener for all the racing series on the weekend schedule.  
 
The Pirelli World Challenge Championship features two separate classes of racing:  GT, GTA and GT Cup classes in one race and GTS in another, encompassing four of the weekend’s races.  Joining the line-up will be open-wheel racing’s future stars racing in the Mazda Road to Indy development ladder series, including Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.  Back by popular demand is the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by Traxxas which add a unique dimension to the weekend.  These identically prepared, high horsepower trucks provide a great spectacle jumping ramps and catching air off all four wheels.

Additional features of the weekend include the 5th Annual Firestone Grand Prix 5K Run presented by Modern Business Associates benefiting the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg which is a run and walk event held on the race track.  Registration is open for the Friday, March 10th evening event at gpstpete5k.com.  Spectrum SpeedZone, located near Turns 5 and 6 near the Firestone Bridge, will again be full of merchandise vendors to pick up the newest racing gear, interactive displays for adults and children, a rock climbing wall, giant fun slide, double power jump, mechanical gator, 12-seater swing along with face painters, and is the place for many autograph sessions during the weekend.

Interactive Displays for Race Fans Highlight Partnership Activation

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 24, 2017) – For the fourth consecutive year, Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg announces the renewal of its partnership with Cadillac and Chevrolet for the upcoming race on March 10-12, 2017.  These classic American brands are designated as the official luxury car and the official truck, respectively.

Cadillac and Chevrolet will display an expansive line-up of their 2017 cars, trucks, crossover/SUVs and performance vehicles.  Their on-site exhibits will also be a gathering point for fans to meet Pirelli World Challenge and Verizon IndyCar Series drivers racing for Cadillac Racing and Team Chevy.  The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg serves as the season-opening event for both race series.

Cadillac will have a display presence near the Pirelli World Challenge sports cars team paddock also featuring fan giveaway items throughout the weekend.  Additionally, its comprehensive activation plans include a parking corral area for Cadillac owners as well as VIP trackside hospitality for its guests.

Chevrolet will offer two fan exhibit locations inside the race circuit showcasing the amazing 2017 lineup of Chevrolet cars, trucks and crossovers.  A full schedule of appearances by Team Chevy IndyCar drivers at the exhibits will be posted soon for fans.

In addition to an array of event signage, Cadillac and Chevrolet are the official vehicles used by event staff.  Plus, the brands serve as the official pace cars and safety vehicles during the on track action.

Cadillac Racing has enjoyed success at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with the two Cadillac ATS-V.R Coupe entries posting four top five finishes, including two third places, in last year’s two races on the 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary circuit.

The 2017 season marks the sixth year of competition for Chevrolet in the Verizon IndyCar Series with the Chevy twin turbo Indy V6 engine.  The “Bowtie Brand” has won the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg five times in a row with Chevy power taking the checkered flag first by Helio Castroneves (2012), James Hinchcliffe (2013), Will Power (2014), and back-to-back victories by Juan Pablo Montoya (2015 and 2016).

Event organizers launch new Champions Club loyalty program for renewal clients

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., September 7, 2016 – Race fans who caught the action at the 2016 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg can purchase their renewal tickets for the 2017 event starting today. Organizers also announce the launch a new Champions Club program that allows renewal customers to benefit from an even higher-octane experience.

The Champions Club program offers exclusive benefits and event access, including a souvenir credential with lanyard, complementary Verizon IndyCar Series paddock passes, access to the pre-race grid walk, discounts on official event merchandise, an opportunity to win a two-seater INDYCAR ride on the track, and many other experiences, discounts and benefits that will be revealed leading up to the 2017 event.

City of St. Petersburg extends license for Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg through 2020, confirms dates through 2018

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, November 12, 2015 – Green Savoree Racing Promotions, organizers of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, received approval today from the members of City Council for the extension of its license for the annual event with the City of St. Petersburg through 2020.

Under the amendment, the dates for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg have also been confirmed through 2018. The event will be held on March 11-13 in 2016, March 9-12 in 2017 and March 8-11 in 2018, with the Verizon IndyCar Series headlining the weekend.
