INDIANAPOLIS (March 8, 2016) – The partnership portfolio at Andretti Autosport continues to grow with the addition of Indianapolis-based hhgregg, a home appliance, electronics, and furniture retailer that operates stores across 20 states. The first appearance for the brand will come through primary sponsorship of Marco Andretti and the No. 27 hhgregg/Snapple car for the April 24 Grand Prix of Alabama with major sponsor branding on the No. 27 Snapple car continuing throughout the historic month of May.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome hhgregg to the Andretti family,” said Andretti Autosport CEO Michael Andretti. “As we are both Indianapolis-based companies, the iconic 2016 season provides the perfect opportunity for our brands to come together. We are looking forward to making history with hhgregg.”

The new partnership puts hhgregg in the spotlight in May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the No. 28 DHL Honda and No. 26 Honda will join Andretti’s entry in carrying the hhgregg brand into history during the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. Additionally, the chain’s 226 stores will be represented through primary sponsorship on the Honda-powered machine of Carlos Muñoz at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

“Aligning with such an accomplished group likeAndretti Autosport and highlighting it during Birmingham and the Month of May in Indianapolis is particularly exciting for hhgregg,”said Chris Sutton, Vice President of Marketing for hhgregg. “We share the same visions of technological advances that highlight product innovation and having highly trained teams that deliver with speed, both of which are critical to our teams. hhgregg and our Maytag partners look forward to engaging with race-goers in many unique ways during the Indianapolis 500.”

The 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series championship begins on March 13 with Grand Prix of St. Petersburg broadcast live on ABC.
