CHEVROLET DETROIT BELLE ISLE GRAND PRIX LAUNCHES NEW DETROITGP MOBILE APP

DETROIT, Mich. (May 19, 2016) – Bringing the excitement of one of Detroit most popular summertime events to mobile users worldwide, the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix today announced the release of the DetroitGP mobile app for iOS and Android.

The new DetroitGP app gives fans the ability to purchase tickets to the Grand Prix – held June 3-5 at Belle Isle Park, stay up to-date on the race weekend schedule, view the detailed map of the venue, learn more about the racing series competing at the event and much more.  The DetroitGP app is native, meaning users do not need an internet connection to run the application, so visitors to Belle Isle on race weekend can engage no matter where they are located on the island.

“The new DetroitGP mobile app will give our fans the opportunity to interact with the Grand Prix on a different level in 2016,” said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. “With the functions available, mobile users will be able to engage both before and during the Grand Prix and we will be able to keep everyone up to date on all the latest happenings through interactive push notifications. The DetroitGP app will really enhance the fan experience at this year’s Grand Prix.”

With no public parking available on Belle Isle for Grand Prix attendees during race weekend, the DetroitGP app will inform fans about the Grand Prix’s park and ride transportation system. The app, free to download for mobile users,  will also detail all the entertainment options at the Grand Prix, allow users to sign up to be an event volunteer, purchase Grand Prix merchandise, engage with the event’s social media channels, learn about all the Grand Prix partners and more. Created in partnership with Avai Mobile out of Austin, Texas, the DetroitGP app is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
