Grand Prix of Boston Powered by LogMeIn Announces Delta Air Lines as an Official Airline
BOSTON (March 31, 2016) – Today, the Grand Prix of Boston powered by LogMeIn announced the addition of Delta Air Lines as an Official Airline of the Grand Prix.
Delta Air Lines is one of the largest carriers serving Boston, operating over 80 peak day flights, and partnering with the Grand Prix of Boston powered by LogMeIn to provide vacation packages to race goers is a natural fit for Delta and fans. “To have Delta Air Lines join us as a partner in the first Grand Prix of Boston is both unusual and a tremendous vote of confidence in the race from an international brand,” said John Casey, President of the Grand Prix of Boston powered by LogMeIn. “The IndyCar Series draws fans from all over the United States and abroad and by partnering with Delta, we can offer them non-stop travel almost to the start/finish line of the Grand Prix from destinations worldwide.”
Delta operates a strong business network out of Boston to destinations like New York, Los Angeles and Rome. The airline also offers nonstop service to leisure destinations like Bermuda, Orlando and Cancun with seasonal service to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas. Delta will launch a new Boston-Seattle route on April 4 and a third flight to Los Angeles this summer.
“We are committed to Boston and always looking for opportunities to expand our offerings in the market,” said Charlie Schewe, Delta General Manager, Global Corporate Accounts. “We operate the best terminal at Logan International Airport following major investments to enhance the customer experience, featuring a second Sky Club which opened last summer. Serving as an official airline of the Grand Prix of Boston was a natural fit.”
The inaugural event will be held September 2-4, 2016 in the South Boston Waterfront area and will feature world-class street racing, including the Verizon IndyCar Series and other sportscar events, and a range of family-friendly festival activities.
The Grand Prix of Boston launched in May 2015, marking the first step of growth to become a signature annual event for the City. The inaugural Verizon INDYCAR Series event will take place over Labor Day weekend, September 2-4, 2016, in the South Boston Waterfront area, offering a series of family-friendly, community-oriented attractions throughout the weekend. Beyond the event weekend, the mission of the Grand Prix of Boston is to serve as a strong community partner, supporting local businesses, organizations and agencies throughout the year.
