BULK OF VERIZON INDYCAR SERIES FIELD HEADED TO TMS 
NEXT WEEK FOR KEY TEST SESSION 
FORT WORTH, Texas (April 28, 2016) – More than two-thirds of the Verizon IndyCar Series field will take part in a significant test session Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway in preparation for the upcoming Firestone 600.
Five organizations and 15 drivers from the 21-car Verizon IndyCar Series field will participate in a one-day test session on the 1.5-mile oval from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT to collect data and information in preparation for the Firestone 600 scheduled for Saturday evening, June 11.
Drivers scheduled to participate in the test are Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud of Team Penske; Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Charlie Kimball and Max Chilton of Chip Ganassi Racing; Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti, Carlos Munoz and Alexander Rossi of Andretti Autosport; Ed Carpenter and Josef Newgarden of Ed Carpenter Racing; and Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Select drivers from the participating teams will be available in the media center deadline room during the afternoon lunch break. A list of those drivers and press conference times will be announced Monday.
The Firestone 600, known as “America’s Original Nighttime Indy Car Race,” is the ninth race of the 16-race Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. The event also will be 28th Verizon IndyCar Series race hosted by Texas Motor Speedway, the most in series history.
The Firestone 600 is set for 7:45 p.m. CT and will be televised live on the NBC Sports Network.
