Lyft and Pippa Mann to Partner at 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (May 26th, 2016) – Lyft, the online app based ride sharing transportation network that matches you with local drivers in minutes, is partnering up with Verizon IndyCar Series driver Pippa Mann for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
With over 200 drivers scheduled to be working in Indianapolis over Memorial Day weekend, party goers and race fans who sign up for Lyft and choose to ride instead of drive can use the code PIPPA to earn a $50 credit.
“With all of the amazing celebrations going on in Indianapolis for the 100th Running of the race this year, we wanted everyone to have a solution to help them get home safely at the end of the night,” said Mann. “We wanted to take this opportunity to help Lyft activate their “Lyft for Good” program in our community, to help ensure no one feels the need to drive home impaired.”
Working in conjunction with the Speedway Police Department, Lyft will be available for fans as a transportation method to and from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on race day. With sold out grandstands, sold out parking, and 400,000 people expected to be in attendance in the Speedway area, fans are encouraged to seek alternative methods of transportation to minimize delays. Lyft riders will be able to bypass the traffic, and be dropped off and picked up at a set location on Main Street in Speedway as part of a protocol in place with the Speedway Police Department.
Not limited to race fans, the PIPPA code and $50 credit will also be available nationwide for Lyft riders. Mann will race in the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 with a Lyft logo on the #63 Dale Coyne Racing car. The race will air Sunday, May 29th at 12:00PM Eastern on ABC.
The partnership between Mann, and Lyft was facilitated by Berle Smith, and G-Speed Race Management. G-Speed Race Management is proud to bring Pippa Mann and Lyft together to help make the fan’s experience of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 safer and easier.
