KVRT’s Stefan Wilson Contests First Indy 500

Qualified: 30th
Finished: 28th

Stefan Wilson Race Day Quote:
“Disappointing to not be able to bring home the No. 25 Driven2SaveLives car and make it to the finish. Unfortunately, a fuel leak started happening maybe on the 100th lap caused an electrical fire and disabled the gearbox so when we went on that final restart during lap 104, it wouldn’t shift out of third gear. We tried to solve the issue and took the car back to the garage, came back out and the issue persisted so we had to call it a day. The No. 25 Driven2SaveLives Chevy was handling really well and we made a great start going 30th to 24th on the first lap and really felt that the car was getting going and I felt like we had some more speed in there that we just had to make adjustments on the pit stop and I think we would’ve been in really good shape, we could’ve brought home a top 15 finish today but you know, that’s racing – there’s always mishaps and unfortunately that’s what happened today. Overall, it was a good month, we ran a lot of laps and I’ve learned a lot about running an IndyCar here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, I think that’s going to help me in future years if I’m able to come back here and race again. I know now what I want to achieve from the car handling and I think if I do come back next year, I’m already so far developed from where I started just under two weeks ago. It seems as though a lot of time has passed but it’s crazy to think it has only been two weeks.”

KVSH Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais Qualifies 19th for 100th Indy 500

Qualified: 19th

Lap 1:               227.4798mph

Lap 4:               227.357 mph

Average:           227.428 MPH

Sebastien Bourdais Practice Qualifying quote:
“It was a solid qualifying run for the Hydroxycut – KVSH Racing Team. The only shame is that we were not geared up for the tailwind. We had a rescue plan for the wind which we used, but it definitely was not ideal for us. When you upshift twice and downshift twice a lap, it about a tenth of a mile per hour that goes away per shift. It’s a shame because we probably should have done a 228 flat if the conditions had been better. At least the laps were very consistent. Not quick enough, not where we want to be, but we did the best with what we had today and overall it was a good run.

Then we hit something that was very sensitive (with the setup). The car is not perfect by any means, but it seems to be pretty solid on our own and in traffic we managed to find a little bit of front grip without destroying the rear. So, I am happy with that. We will regroup tonight, think about it, try and make it better then obviously, make the transition to qualifying mode. That is what we need to get after.”

Bourdais 11th on Speed Charts After Practice 3 for Indy 500

Practice 3: Fastest lap – 39.7831 seconds/226.227 mph – 11th

Combined Results: Fastest lap – 39.7831 seconds/226.227 mph – 13th

Sebastien Bourdais Practice 3 Quote:
“It was an interesting day for the Hydroxycut – KVSH Racing team. We tried a lot of things and as usual you think you have made a step forward and then you think was that really better. It is one of those things where you have one car in front, it’s okay, two cars in front, it’s still pretty good and then I get four, five, 10 cars in front, there is no air on the car and it gets really tricky. It’s like you are looking and searching for the impossible. You want a car that handles perfect even in a big train of cars. We’ll see. I think the Hydroxycut machine is in the ballpark. We just need to keep ticking things off the list and try and make it better.”
