100th Running of Indianapolis 500 Mile Race Sets Stage for Legendary IndyCar Season

INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 – Following today’s release of the Verizon IndyCar Series 2016 schedule, Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles provided the below statement celebrating the countdown to the 100th Running of the Indy 500:

“The release of today’s Verizon IndyCar Series schedule marks a significant milestone in the countdown to a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of speed, progress and the pursuit of glory. The 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race will be a sensational and singular experience that simply cannot be matched anywhere else on the globe. Everyone at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway looks forward to celebrating another century of monumental moments and even more epic stories as the future unfolds.”

The Month of May begins at IMS with the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis on Saturday, May 14. Indy 500 qualifications will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and May 22, followed by the 100th Running of the Indy 500 on Sunday, May 29. Coverage of these events will be provided by ABC.
