MAZDA RACEWAY PREVIEW

SHELBY BLACKSTOCK
NO. 51 STARSTRUCK MAZDA
“Our test day was a decent day; we started pretty good – our gearing was a little off, but we made some changes that helped us improve. Our car was extremely good for the second run, but after a really nice adjustment, we ended up only getting one lap in since the red flag came out. I think our Starstruck car is in a really good spot right now; I’m really excited to get the rest of the weekend going.”

“Testing was quite interesting. Mazda Raceway is really nice, really fun – lots of elevation changes. We had a few things to work on, and I think we’ve found the solutions, so we’re looking forward to our sessions today to see what progress we can make towards our qualifying. Hopefully everything will turn out well!”

“As always, it feels great to be at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca; it’s one of my favorite tracks in America, so I’m really excited we could have the Mazda Road to Indy finale here. We missed the first test session due to a mechanical problem with the brakes which ended with our car on the hook which is unfortunate. Regardless, we got some good work done in our second test session. We’re going to be doing everything we can do to see what needs adjusting, but all in all, not a bad start to our weekend.”
