Feel the Rush on SiriusXM with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports

Indianapolis, IN – June 2, 2015 – Amazon.com, SiriusXM, and the iconic Canadian rock band, Rush, teamed up as associate sponsors of the No. 5 Arrow Electronics car in the Verizon IndyCar Series at the recently run 2015 Indianapolis 500. The Amazon, SiriusXM, and Rush logos adorned the Honda-powered SPM entry for the 99th running of the famed race.

The program, which runs until June 30th, highlights Rush’s incredible catalogue of music, including 14 of their albums newly remastered on vinyl, and Amazon as a leading retailer destination for music. In addition, this program highlights the relationship between SiriusXM and Amazon as a featured destination to buy SiriusXM radios and accessories.

Visit amazon.com/indy500 for purchase opportunities for the Rush retail albums and the SiriusXM Onyx Plus with Vehicle Kit (subscription sold separately by SiriusXM). Various Rush, SiriusXM, team, and driver content are featured on the site as well.

SPM team co-owner Sam Schmidt stated, “We’re excited to work with Amazon and SiriusXM with their retail programs. Hinch’s ‘Mayor on Air’ radio show on SiriusXM has been great and opened up the opportunity for SiriusXM to support the team. Having Rush in the mix here as well, joining in with celebrating their 40 year Anniversary and R40 North American tour, is truly fantastic!”

Originally intended to be driven by Canadian James Hinchcliffe, replacement driver Ryan Briscoe drove the car in the race to a 12th place finish after James was seriously injured in a practice accident. Briscoe will again be in the No. 5 car this weekend for the Firestone 600 race at Texas Motor Speedway. Hinchcliffe is expected to fully recover from his injuries, and his return to the cockpit will be eagerly anticipated.
