Barber - Saturday - 7:50am

Good morning from the Barber Motorsports Park, where we are ready for today's activity to start for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.

We are ready, but the weather has caused some issues. It was quite foggy this morning, and that fog is still burning off. Until the fog does burn off, the medical helicopter can't land - and until that happens, we won't be practicing.

The forecast today calls for a high temperature of 81 degrees with 60 percent humidity. There is a 40 percent chance of rain later in the day, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue given the schedule today, which gets over pretty early.

With that, here is the posted schedule - we'll pass along updates on the schedule on Twitter. (

8:00 - 8:20 a.m. IZOD IndyCar Practice
8:40 - 9:25 a.m. Firestone Indy Lights Qualifying
9:40 - 10:55 a.m. IZOD IndyCar Qualifying

If you're here at the track, there are two INDYCAR driver autograph sessions at 12:30pm and 2:15pm.

The Dale Coyne Racing crew of Justin Wilson reports that they finished the repair work on Justin Wilson's car around 1am this morning. Wilson was busy thanking the crew guys for their hard work this morning as they were finishing up the last few things.

Not sure exactly when the Dreyer and Reinbold Racing crew of Oriol Servia left last night, but we think it was before Justin Wilson's crew left. Servia's car (in the blue/green colors of Charter Communications this weekend) had a new engine this morning and looks ready to go.

In all the chaos of the rain, we neglected to bring you the Star Mazda qualifying results yesterday. Jack Hawksworth won his second pole in a row and will try to turn that into his second race win in a row tomorrow morning in the first Star Mazda race of the day. Remember that the grid results for the second Star Mazda race, the one held after the IZOD IndyCar race, will be set by the fastest lap each driver has during the first race.

Another schedule quirk - Star Mazda is not on track at all today. The Grand-AM Rolex series and the Continental Tire series both race after INDYCAR qualifying.

Star Mazda Qualifying Results.
