Edmonton - Saturday - Spoiler

Story posted - Jul 26 2008 7:05 PM

Scott Dixon didn't make a mistake, while Helio Castroneves did - and that's what enabled Dixon to win the Rexall Edmonton Indy.

Castroneves was trying to take advantage of the situation on Lap 79 while Dixon was trying to pass the lapped car of Danica Patrick. Castroneves locked up his brakes and skidded wide at Turn 1, allowing Dixon to escape and run away with the win. The race was shortened from 95 to 91 laps due to four full course yellows that caused the race to run past the 1 hour, 50 minute maximum.

Edmonton veterans Justin Wilson and Oriol Servia finished third and fifth, while Paul Tracy overcame a complete loss of radio communications to finish fourth.

Why Subscribe to TrackSide Online?

Focused:
We don't cover every series out there - we focus on the IndyCar Series, and have done so since the IRL's inception in 1996. We have multiple staff members at every IRL event - open tests, the Firestone Indy Lights, every day of action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, even the event at Twin Ring Motegi. We're in the garages and at the press conferences finding out tomorrow's news today. Maybe that's why car owners, drivers, IRL management, and members of the radio and television broadcast teams all subscribe to TSO.

More Than News:
Not only do we cover the news, but we try to make you feel like you're at the event yourself. TSO has photographers at each event taking photos of the action on the track, in the garages, and behind the scenes.
