Dan Weldon celebrates winning the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300.

The Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway is in the books, and it was a strange one. Granted, one of the Target cars won, and that wasn't a surprise because they were both very quick all day. But, it was Scott Dixon that dominated, leading 145 laps to Dan Wheldon's 49 laps.

Dixon didn't lead the right lap, after being trapped on pit road when Buddy Rice's right front corner folded up and put him hard in to the turn two wall. What had been a pretty decent car (Buddy was headed for a top 10), is now a big piece of junk as the entire ride side was cleaned off and that car was destroyed. Not what you'd want heading for the month of May, and particularly not for a two car team already planning to run three at Indy - but only having four chassis to use.

Why Subscribe to TrackSide Online?

Focused:
We don't cover every series out there - we focus on the IndyCar Series, and have done so since the IRL's inception in 1996. We have multiple staff members at every IRL event - open tests, the Firestone Indy Lights, every day of action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, even the event at Twin Ring Motegi. We're in the garages and at the press conferences finding out tomorrow's news today. Maybe that's why car owners, drivers, IRL management, and members of the radio and television broadcast teams all subscribe to TSO.

More Than News:
Not only do we cover the news, but we try to make you feel like you're at the event yourself. TSO has photographers at each event taking photos of the action on the track, in the garages, and behind the scenes.
