Quick Update for 11-09-07

Well, first the obvious. Sam Hornish, Jr., has made up his mind and what appeared to be a foregone conclusion will be official on Saturday night - Sam is going NASCAR racing full-time in 2008. It is expected that this will be announced at the Penske Racing Museum in Scottsdale this weekend.

Replacing Sam will be Ryan Briscoe who will move from Penske's ALMS squad - we are hearing this will be officially presented early next week.

In other news, TSO checked in on Panther Racing early this week, and they are still working toward a two-car IndyCar Series operation and also plan to have full-time IPS squad in 2008. In spite of the loss of the SuperAguri deal and Hideki Mutoh, the team seemed pretty upbeat and positive about their future.

Panther has their new website up at PantherRacing.com and it looks good and is full of information.

Always one of the more "open" teams in the paddock, Panther has a funny story up about team members avidly watching Dancing with the Stars, mostly to look at Helio's partner, Julianne Hough!

Another potential two-car team for 2008 is Roth Racing. We have heard through the grapevine that Roth is working hard to finalize his program for next year and that both Marty and PJ Chesson were among a handful of owners/drivers at a recent HPD year-end party in California.

And with that, we'll wrap this one up until some other breaking news pops up!
