DCR excited to return to The Glen
– Enerson joins Daly for final two rounds of the season –

Plainfield, IL (August 30, 2016) – Dale Coyne Racing is thrilled to be returning to the scene of its first win this weekend with the Verizon IndyCar Series heading back to race at Watkins Glen International (WGI) after a five-year hiatus.

Conor Daly in the #18 Jonathan Byrd’s Hospitality car will be joined by RC Enerson in the #19 Boy Scouts of America machine as both drivers make their first official Verizon IndyCar Series appearance at the 3.37-mile permanent road course.

However, the pair are familiar with the Watkins Glen International track having taken part in a successful test with the team earlier in August, with Daly also having competed there once in sports car racing.

This will be the second IndyCar Series start for Enerson who joined the team at Mid-Ohio in July and the 21st for Daly.

Dale Coyne Racing with the late great Justin Wilson picked up their first INDYCAR win at WGI in 2009.

Daly and Enerson will be on track starting Friday, September 2 with a 45-minute practice session that will be broadcast live on NBCSN from 11:00am ET. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, September 3, from 3pm to 4:30pm ET and will be broadcast on tape-delay at 6pm ET on NBCSN.

The IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen will go green at 2:37pm ET on Sunday, September 4, 2016 with live coverage on NBCSN starting at 2pm ET.

Timing and scoring will be available online at racecontrol.indycar.com and will include live streaming of non-televised sessions.

“We need to have a good race at Watkins Glen. Mid-Ohio was great so I’m looking to go back to Watkins Glen with the form we had in testing. I think we rolled off the truck with a really nice set up and we just have to take advantage of it. Points are very important for us. If I’m going to have any chance of catching Rossi in the Rookie of the Year, I’m going to have to finish ahead of him in a big way in both Watkins and Sonoma. It’s going to be really fast and a really physically difficult weekend. Everybody is going to have to be on their ‘A’ game. It might be difficult to pass, so we may have to use our strengths to get to the front as normal and hopefully we can just have a good race.”
RC Enerson – #19 Boy Scouts of America“I think we have a good weekend ahead of us. We were really quick in testing. We seem to have pretty good cars. We still need to work a little bit more but we should be able to dial in the car in practice before qualifying and that should put us in a pretty good spot. I’m just looking forward to getting back in the car. I think the track layout is pretty cool, it has a bit of a Mid-Ohio taste to it almost because of all the elevation changes and a lot of high speed flowing corners. That new pavement that they have, I never got to drive on the old one, but apparently it has way more grip and I believe it because it’s pretty intense how much speed you can carry into the corners and how much the car will actually take. I think my objective for the weekend is pretty much the same thing as Mid-Ohio, to pull as much experience as I can from this and do my best and see what kind of result I can bring home.”
