ROBOSAURUS BRINGS APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TO
TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY FOR FIRESTONE 600

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 16, 2016) – The Verizon IndyCar Series field will be on high alert during the Firestone 600 as Robosaurus, the world’s largest car-crushing, fire-breathing robot, will display its strengths for race fans at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 11.
Robosaurus will make its triumphant return to Texas Motor Speedway for a special performance at 6 p.m. CT prior to the start of the Firestone 600 at 7:45 p.m. (TV: NBC Sports Network, Radio: SiriusXM Channel 209, IMS Network and 95.9 FM The Ranch locally).
The 30-ton, 40-foot-tall, fire-breathing T-Rex has a knack for crushing cars and planes with 28,000 pounds of biting force per square inch and is scheduled to feast on several cars in its visit to Texas Motor Speedway. (Click here for video.)
The transforming T-Rex has life-like movements generated by a pilot that sits in the cockpit in the robot’s cranium. Each of the pilot’s arms is placed in a cuff-restraint system. When the pilot moves his arms and shoulders, Robosaurus’ arms and shoulders move as well. Finger controls open and close its claws while foot pedals steer the mechanical beast.
This will mark Robosaurus’ second appearance at Texas Motor Speedway, having visited at this same Verizon IndyCar Series event in June of 2004.
Enjoying the thrill of Robosaurus and the Firestone 600 is simple with Texas Motor Speedway’s “INDYCAR Sights & Sounds 2-Pack” that includes two tickets to the race along with a scanner rental and two ear sets for just $49. Fans will get to listen to their favorite drivers and teams as they plan their race-winning strategy.
The Firestone 600 is part of an INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader weekend that also includes the Camping World Truck Series Rattlesnake 400 on Friday, June 10. To purchase tickets, call the Texas Motor Speedway ticket office at (817) 215-8500 or visit www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
