Series race winner came away from today’s sole practice session P6, turning 20 laps on the temporary street course in downtown Long Beach
“It was good to get back out in Long Beach, especially with The Stellrecht Company coming onboard this weekend. We’re working hard at it, and we only had one session today, so we just kind of had a feel for it out there. We got some good laps in, the car feels good and the team working really well together. We’ve got some work to do tomorrow and it’s going to be a big day with practice and qualifying; it’s probably the most important day. We’ll have a long, hard think about it tonight, work at it and see how we are tomorrow.”

SHELBY BLACKSTOCK
NO. 51 STARSTRUCK MAZDA

Series rookie completed 18 laps on the 1.968-mile circuit during today’s practice, placing P11 on the time charts
“Today we just went out there, ran the track to get some laps. It’s a different track… it’s definitely bumpy but a fun circuit. Our times just weren’t there, so we’re going to go back and look it over. The Andretti Autosport crew and I are looking forward to heading back out tomorrow and having a better day.”
